You'll get honest advice and a free valuation, with ZERO pressure to sell.

Contact Us Now!

Call or WhatsApp message us for a free valuation today.

If you own an Audemars Piguet and you're thinking about selling, you've probably already noticed something most other watches don't have: genuine, consistent demand. We buy Audemars Piguet watches from private sellers across the UK, and it's one of the brands we're asked about the most — usually a Royal Oak, sometimes a Royal Oak Offshore, occasionally something rarer.

This page is written to help you do three things: identify exactly what you own, understand what actually drives its value, and sell it to us quickly and safely. No brand history lesson, no filler — just what you need to know before you get in touch.

Trusted AP Buyer

We Buy Audemars Piguet Watches

We are Watch Boutique, a dedicated watch buyer, not a dealer trying to move stock. We don't sell watches — we purchase them directly from owners, which means we can give you a firm figure quickly and pay you without waiting for a buyer to be found elsewhere.

Audemars Piguet sits at the top end of what we buy, alongside Rolex and Patek Philippe. Whatever your reason for selling — funding a new piece, releasing value from a watch you no longer wear, or simplifying a collection — we're genuinely interested in hearing from you.

We buy Audemars Piguet watches in any condition, with or without box and papers, and whether the reference is current, discontinued, or something we need to look up together on the call.

Why Sell To Us

Why Owners Sell Their Audemars Piguet to Us

Ben has been buying luxury watches for over 15 years and has handled a good number of Audemars Piguet pieces in that time, from well-worn steel Royal Oaks to boxed Offshores that have barely left the safe. A few things come up again and again from sellers:

  • They want a fast, straightforward sale rather than the uncertainty of a private listing.
  • They're aware of how strong demand is for AP on the secondary market and want a fair reflection of that, not a lowball offer.
  • They'd rather deal with one named, experienced person than an anonymous platform.
  • They want the transaction handled discreetly and securely, given the value involved.

You'll speak directly with Ben. He'll ask a few questions about your watch, give you an honest initial figure, and talk you through exactly what happens next — with zero pressure to proceed if it's not right for you.

Valuation Factors

What Affects the Value of Your Audemars Piguet

Audemars Piguet is one of the more nuanced brands to value correctly, because small differences between two seemingly identical watches can mean a genuinely different offer. Here's what we actually look at.

Collection and Model

The collection is the starting point, but it's rarely the whole story with AP — model and reference matter far more here than with most brands.

Royal Oak

the watch that defines the brand, and by far the most requested collection when sellers contact us. Steel Royal Oaks, particularly the 15202, 16202, 15500 and 15510 references, are consistently in demand and often command strong offers relative to their original retail price, especially discontinued references like the "Jumbo" 15202 or the earlier 5402/14790 series. We regularly speak to sellers who assume their steel model is worth less simply because it isn't gold — with the Royal Oak, that assumption is usually the wrong way round.

Royal Oak Offshore

larger, sportier, and popular with a different type of buyer. Chronograph references (such as the 26470 and 15710 diver models) tend to hold interest well. Offshore models with unusual dials, ceramics or forged carbon cases are worth flagging to us specifically, as sellers often describe these as "just a chronograph" without mentioning the case material — and that detail alone can move the valuation.

Royal Oak Concept

highly technical, often limited, and worth a conversation on their own merits given how specialised the market for these is.

Code 11.59

AP's more contemporary collection. It had a slow start with collectors, so some owners assume it won't attract much interest — in our experience complicated versions (perpetual calendar, tourbillon, chronograph) hold up considerably better than that reputation suggests, while simpler time-only pieces are more modest.

Millenary and Jules Audemars

less commonly seen, but we're happy to value these too. They tend to sell to a smaller, more specific buyer, which we factor into the offer.

If you're not sure which collection or reference you have, that's completely normal — send us clear photos of the dial, case back and any markings, and we'll identify it for you as part of your valuation.

Reference Number

With Audemars Piguet, the reference number can be the single biggest factor in your valuation. Two Royal Oaks that look almost identical at a glance — same size, similar dial colour — can be years apart in production and worth noticeably different amounts once you factor in bracelet type, movement, or whether the reference has been discontinued. Most sellers know they own "a Royal Oak" but haven't looked for the reference itself; it's usually engraved small between the lugs or on the case back, and it's the detail that turns a rough estimate into a proper quote. Find it and give it to us early.

Steel vs Precious Metal

This reversal — steel outperforming gold — is a direct result of decades of restricted supply and waiting lists at retail, and it's still one of the first things we explain to sellers, because it changes how you should think about your own watch's worth. It doesn't mean gold and platinum models aren't valuable; two-tone and full-gold Royal Oaks and Offshores still sell well, particularly with box and papers. It just means we price the metal against genuine current demand rather than assuming precious metal automatically means the higher offer.

Condition and Originality

The integrated bracelet is one of the most distinctive parts of a Royal Oak or Offshore, and its condition matters more than people expect — stretch, over-polishing, or replaced links are all things we check carefully, as is wear to the octagonal bezel and case edges. A watch with sharp, original case lines will generally be valued higher than one that's been heavily polished. One thing sellers rarely think to mention is any removed bracelet links from resizing — if you still have them, include them, as a complete link set is part of what we're checking for.

We also check that everything on the watch is original to that reference — dial, hands, bezel and bracelet links can occasionally be swapped or replaced during past servicing, and this affects the offer. None of this rules a watch out; we buy Audemars Piguet watches in worn, scratched or even non-running condition. It simply means we explain clearly how condition has shaped your specific number.

Box, Papers and Service History

Audemars Piguet is one of the brands where a complete set genuinely makes a meaningful difference to your offer, given how closely full sets are tracked on the secondary market. That said, we still buy watches without the original box or papers — many owners have inherited an Audemars Piguet or bought it second-hand years ago without documentation, and we're happy to make a fair offer based on what you do have. Our guide on whether you need the box and papers to sell a watch covers this in more detail.

Any service history, extract from the archives, or original receipt is useful and worth including, but it's not a requirement.

Authenticity

Audemars Piguet is, unfortunately, one of the more heavily counterfeited brands on the market, so authentication is a standard part of how we assess every watch before confirming a final offer. This protects you as much as it protects us. If you're at all unsure about a watch's authenticity, our guide on how to spot a fake watch before selling is a useful starting point, and you can read more generally on why authentication matters when selling a luxury watch.

Current Market Demand

Demand for specific AP references can shift within months, so we price against what's actually selling right now rather than an outdated price guide or what a friend's watch fetched last year.

The Process

How to Sell Your Audemars Piguet to Watch Boutique

Selling to us is deliberately simple. Most sellers go from first contact to payment within a day or two.

1

Get in touch.

Call, WhatsApp, or use our online form and tell us the collection, model or reference if you know it, along with the general condition and whether you have box and papers.

2

Send photos.

A few clear pictures of the dial, case back, bracelet and any box or paperwork let us give you a much more accurate initial figure.

3

Send the watch or meet us.

Post it using our fully insured Royal Mail Special Delivery service, or arrange an in-person appointment — you can find your nearest option on our locations page.

4

We inspect and authenticate.

Our specialists check the case, bracelet, dial, movement and reference against the details you've given us.

5

We confirm your final offer.

A clear, honest figure — with no obligation to accept it.

6

Get paid the same day.

Once you accept, payment is sent straight to your bank account, typically the same day for in-person sales and shortly after inspection for postal ones.

If you decline our offer at any stage, we return your watch fully insured at no cost to you.

Seller FAQs

Common Questions from Audemars Piguet Sellers

Do you buy Audemars Piguet watches without the box and papers?+

Yes. A complete set can increase your offer, but we regularly buy watches with only the watch itself. We'll assess and authenticate it on its own merits.

I don't know the exact reference — can you still value it?+

Yes. Send clear photos and we'll identify the reference and collection for you as part of the valuation.

Do you buy older or discontinued Royal Oak references?+

Yes, and in many cases discontinued references are more, not less, in demand. Send us the details and we'll give you an honest read on current interest.

Will a scratched or heavily worn watch still get a fair offer?+

Yes. Condition affects the number, but we buy Audemars Piguet watches in any condition, including ones that haven't been serviced in years.

Can I sell an Audemars Piguet I inherited without a receipt?+

Yes. As long as we can authenticate the watch, we're happy to make an offer.

How quickly will I be paid?+

Most sales complete within 24 to 48 hours of first contact. In-person appointments can be finished within the hour, with funds sent within minutes.
